Multisport

Multisport Events

The team from ChronoTrack® developed an ingenious solution for timing multisport events by combining the same market leading controllers we know and trust, with low profile battery powered tags to provide excellent reads straight out of the water - the read strength is not impacted by water trapped in wetsuits.

The 3D active tag system uses wire loop aerials which we normally cover with low profile rubber mats.

The aerial loops can provide timing lines from 1 metre to 12 metres in width.

The active tags are threaded through either a branded neoprene strap, or a disposable strap, and the strap is then securely fastened around the entrant’s ankle.

Ask us about custom printing of neoprene straps with your event's logo.

ChronoTrack®'s active system is designed to deliver great results for you and your entrants at your multisport events. Active tags must be returned and any non-returned or damaged active tags will be charged at replacement cost.

Tag Fitting - Multisport Events

Either Multisport tag option should be worn around your ankle.

Active Tags

These battery powered tags are attached around your ankle by a strap. Your event director will determine the type of strap supplied.

You may wear the active tag either under, or on top of, a wetsuit. The active tags will read straight out of the water when worn under your wetsuit.

Neoprene Strap

Thread active tag onto strap through the tag's "wings". Firmly close velcro. Wrap strap around your ankle and firmly close strap.

All neoprene straps we provide are new.

Please note that as grit and/or sand reduces the adhesive capability of velcro we recommend that if using your own strap you check your velcro prior to fitting the tag.

N.B. while you may keep the neoprene strap, you must return the tag.

If you need help please see a timing official for assistance.

Disposable Strap

Thread strap through active tag's "wings". Wrap strap around either ankle. Push clip through hole in strap and snap dome firmly shut. Please note that the strap will not stay on your ankle if you do not snap the dome firmly shut and you will lose the strap and tag.

N.B. while the strap is disposable you must return the tag.

If you need help please see a timing official for assistance.

RFID Tags

These passive tags are attached around your ankle by a strap. Your event director will determine the type of strap supplied.

RFID tags do not read when covered by water. On exiting water a wetsuit will trap water for a period of time. The trapped water inhibits RFID tag performance. When a multisport event uses RFID tags wear the tag over, or clear of, your wetsuit.
