Running

Cross Country

For Cross Country running events we recommend the use of dual ChronoTrack® B-Tags attached to the back of each entrant’s bib. The bib’s should be attached to the front of the entrant with four safety pins. The bib’s should not be covered. The bibs should be worn mid abdomen or lower.

For finish lines we use ChronoTrack® mats, for all other locations and timing lines we would use either mats or ChronoTrack®’s FlashPoints (tripod mounted aerials) dependent on terrain and numbers.

Dual B-tags on bibs provide excellent read rates using cost efficient disposable tags - and your entrants may retain bib and tags as a unique memento.

Active Tags

We can also offer the option of using ChronoTrack®’s active tags for Cross Country events. The active tags are threaded through a disposable strap, and the strap is then fastened around the entrant’s ankle.

The active tags provide a very high signal strength regardless of water and/or mud. The active tags must be returned.

Road

For road running events we recommend the use of dual ChronoTrack® B-Tags attached to the back of each entrant’s bib. The bibs should be attached to the front of the entrant with four safety pins. The bibs should not be covered. The bibs should be worn mid abdomen or lower.

For start and finish lines we use ChronoTrack® mats. These can provide an unbroken timing line of up to 16 metres wide. For all other locations and timing lines we would use either mats or ChronoTrack®’s FlashPoints (tripod mounted aerials) dependent on terrain and numbers. This option provides excellent read rates using cost efficient disposable tags.

Trail

For Trail running events we recommend the use of dual ChronoTrack® B-Tags attached to the back of each entrant’s bib. The bibs should be attached to the front of the entrant with four safety pins. The bibs should not be covered. The bibs should be worn mid abdomen or lower.

Tag Fitting - Running Events

Running events may use either Active Tags or Dual B-Tags.

Active Tags

These battery powered tags are attached around your ankle by a strap. Your event director will determine the type of strap supplied.

Neoprene Strap

Thread active tag onto strap through the tag's "wings". Firmly close velcro. Wrap strap around your ankle and firmly close strap.

All neoprene straps we provide are new.

Please note that as grit and/or sand reduces the adhesive capability of velcro we recommend that if using your own strap you check your velcro prior to fitting the tag.

N.B. while you may keep the neoprene strap, you must return the tag.

If you need help please see a timing official for assistance.

Disposable Strap

Thread strap through active tag's "wings". Wrap strap around either ankle. Push clip through hole in strap and snap dome firmly shut. Please note that the strap will not stay on your ankle if you do not snap the dome firmly shut and you will lose the strap and tag.

N.B. while the strap is disposable you must return the tag.

If you need help please see a timing official for assistance.

Dual B-Tags

Entrant bibs have two ChronoTrack® B-Tags tags fitted towards the edges of the back of each bib.

We recommend fitting your bib between hip and lower chest height to the outer clothing you will wear throughout the event.

Please attach the bib to your front.

Please do not cover your bib and tags.

UHF tag performance is adversely impacted by water. Do not cover your tags with a hydration system or drink bottles.

Tags can be damaged by bending or folding. Do not fold your tag.

If you need help please see a timing official at your event for assistance.
